I’ve been blessed in my life; a mother who loves and would do anything for me, a wealthy lifestyle, genius IQ, graduated with highest honors, working for one of the richest men in Virginia, and women adore me. I adore them too, but only for about a month, because I get bored rather quickly. I blame that on my high IQ.
All my roommates have found their special other, but I’m not expecting to find mine. I love my mother but I don’t think I have the ability to fall IN love. I’m not complaining though. I’m twenty-three and enjoying the hell out of my life. Who would want to settle down with their forever at our age anyway?
But then this redhead appears and I can barely keep up with her. She’s got a mouth on her that makes my blood boil in the best possible way. I’ve never met anyone like her and she starts to become an incredible addiction. I want her, but I’m just not sure how much I want and for how long.

I came out of the womb the unluckiest baby alive, and nothing has changed in the last twenty years. After being abandoned as an infant, I was shifted from foster home to foster home. High school was hell, and college hasn’t been much better. The word ‘trust’ is something used in fairy-tales, but I’m very familiar with the words ‘rejection’, ‘unwanted’, and ‘trailer trash’.
I have two real friends and I’m in no rush to expand that number because all people do is stab you in the back…usually with a rusted, dipped in poison, dull knife, leaving you with long-term wounds that never really heal. Love is another one of those fairy-tale words. I’ve learned my lesson and don’t open myself up anymore to that possibility, especially from guys. They are a bunch of liars and users.
But then this cocky ex-lacrosse player appears in my life creating cracks in my armor, and I’m feeling things I’ve never felt before. Feelings I could really do without experiencing, and are trying like hell to ignore, because I don’t do those anymore. Staying away from him helped enormously, but then we were thrown back together and I can’t ignore what he does to me.
Chances are taken by both, but pasts are difficult to shake and forget.
This can be read as a standalone but it is part of a series and has characters with their own stories you might want to read about. No Cliffhanger. Adult language and material

Romance and real relationship issues, love how the characters are real people and have great romance, and build up to good sex.
Great how the female character are realistic with struggles and get a great guy with HEA!
Favorite part is the friendship that last thru the series!
This is the fourth book in the series and I loved it. It is Evan and Shaw's story. Both main characters were interesting and I liked how their relationship progressed. I really like how the author brings different life situations/social issues to her stories (the impact of school bullying) in this one. I also like the fact that her characters are diverse in their social backgrounds and ethnicity. It was great catching up with the rest of the gang. I hope the author will write Blake & Libby's story as well as one on Sam and Nadia's half brother (unrequited love that one and potential for lots of angst there). Looking forward to the next book.
Evan, like Seth proved himself to be a great guy. Thanks largely in part to his mom, who practically raised him single handedly despite being married to his step-father. Shaw’s smart quips to Evan come-ons are funny and keep the tension between them going. Once he tears down Shaw’s many emotional barriers he shows her how a real man is suppose to treat a woman in a relationship. All his team mates are there to support Shaw and Evan through their turmoil. Evan’s story opens the door to several more stories such as Lon’s cousins, the Cruz brothers, Evans’s mom and a certain someone, Blake and oh, keep your eye on Greg. Remember him, Myra’s step-brother? There is a LOT more to GREG. The only thing that wasn’t explained was Gabby’s and Lon’s daughter. Where was she? Nola was stuck hanging out with Izzy, Nadia’s sister, who if I remember is a tween. This book was just as good as the rest of the series. Can not wait for the next one!!! GREG?GREG?
Puke. Same old same old and how disappointed it is that some NA authors cannot deviate from having a man&hoe hero who kept smexing OW after meeting the heroine even when the hero is really attracted to her and likes being around her. God forbid he keep it in his pants and abstain until he can be with her.
And of course, like in this story the heroine is celibate during the 9 nine months that the get to know and enjoy being around each other. Too many times in the NA romance world the heroine remains in a deep freeze until she is with the hero because the heroines are not allowed to enjoy smex with OM after meeting the hero. Too bad the heroes are not willing to show the same restraint and respect. Not only is this not romantic but it is so pathetic.
Based on my reading the summaries and reviews of the other books I bet dollars to donuts that the other "heroes" in this series are the same way and that is sad.
The only thing the supposed hero Evan is addicted to is smex. When I DNF this story he was already a walking STD. What a catch.
