Einstein was wrong! In 2027, an experiment conducted beneath the icy waters of Lake Baikal proves that the fourth dimension is not time, but a wellspring of consciousness known to ancient philosophers as the mysterious Akashik field. Jesse Barker, a world-renowned particle physicist, discovers the mathematical algorithm to control this field, but he immediately realizes that having access to this new reality would give anyone disturbing power over the human mind. Afraid that the currently ruling science elite would ruthlessly exploit his insight, Jesse withdraws into academic obscurity. When Jesse's wife and daughter mysteriously vanish, his life begins to unravel. Summoned by the mighty science council to interpret the results of the Lake Baikal experiment Jesse refuses to comply and escapes. His treacherous journey across the globe and through previously unknown mental states culminates in Jesse taking part in a Siberian bear ritual during which he falls into an irreversible coma. Eager to get a hand on his formula, government agents find and preserve his body in suspended animation for a possible later awakening. At this crucial moment, Jesse's stepdaughter, Melissa, carries on her father's mission. Endowed with the tribal wisdom of her native people - her biological father was Hopi - Melissa follows a call to the Altai Mountains. On way to this ancient cradle of civilization, she finds herself joined by millions of seekers expecting the revelation of an important prophecy. When government agents find out about the planned assembly they ruthlessly exterminate all those gathered. But the holocaust is unable to stop the good news. Through the power of the newly contacted field the prophecy spreads among the people of the world, and Melissa becomes the spokesperson of the new world order. She brings with her a hopeful message of empowerment and self-design.

I do have to say, Einstein's Mistake would not have been a book that I would have picked to read, but I definitely recommend Einstein's Mistake by Werner Krieglstein. I was assigned this book for an ethics class and found that I did not want to put it down. It kept my attention throughout, but also made me think. What would happen if Science governed all? It puts a futuristic spin on what would happen if as a society we lose sight of what is important, and lose touch with are human connection with all things, as well as lose sight of the community that surrounds us all. Einstein's Mistake also offers enough suspense to keep you wanting to know what happens to each character throughout the book. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a well written thought provoking book.

Wow! This is not a normal book that I would have chose to read. I just finished it for a Philosophy class that I am taking by Mr. Krieglstein. Very interesting and thought provoking into a futuristic view of the world. It made me stop and think about how I view the current community that I live in, not only locally, nationally and worldwide. It also gave question to a fourth dimension that I would have never thought about, nor will I be able to forget the vision depicted in this book of the fourth dimension. Reading this made me contemplate my emotions, religious beliefs as well as my sense of compassion and community to others. This would make a great movie. It would be exciting to see what the author's vision would be in live color as he describes Jesse traveling and mostly Melissa through her travels. Glad I had the chance to be introduced to this style novel.
I found Werner Krieglstein's Einstein's Mistake to be an exciting read! I have to admit that I am not an avid reader, so if I do decide to read novels, I can sometimes find it very difficult to keep my interest. This, however, was not the case when I began reading Einstein's Mistake. The characters of Professor Barker, Dr. Wong, Carlisle, Richard and Joe were well developed throughout the course of the story. This book is a look into the future on what would happen if science was to take control of our society and could see into and manipulate all of our thoughts, emotions and actions. The story follows Professor Barker and his family as well as some other sordid individuals who somehow play important and strange roles of how Professor Barker's life quickly unravels and takes a strange turn. I think that Einsten's Mistake is an exciting look into the future and what could possibly be if we do not strive harder to be more sensitive to each other's differences and embrace them!
I read this book as part of my curriculum for my MBA studies. Any normal day, I would not have picked this book up. I am strictly about numbers and money, but it was an "unexpected good read" - it was actually an amazing book.

Before I posted my comments, I wanted to ask the writer (who is actually my Professor for a leadership studies class titled "Uses and Abuses of Science") what was his motivation on writing this book. Characters, settings, foundation, etc ... I wanted to know how he came up with all of this because it all really flowed. He said it was hard, 6 years hard, but it just came to him. And it showed in how natural the book was - he set the scene for the different characters at different places at different times, and it all made sense. Without spoiling the book, it makes you wonder, where are we headed in terms of Science. From our individualism, our right to do anything - will this all be controlled one day by some "government"????

Because I am from a strictly business/financial background, it was difficult to read at times, so I had to write a summary after each chapter - even questions that I had to ask my Professor such as what are these scientific purity laws, what is a supercollider, if /when your daughter materializes - what does that mean, or what does GeV stand for? There was a lot of "over-my-head" vocabulary in terms of science - but again, it was a different class for a business major.

But if you can get past the norm (it took me to take a class outside of the normal MBA curriculum) and really delve into the book, I think you will be just as pleasantly surprised as I was. This book read was actually my favorite part of the class. My Professor thinks he my soon work on a sequel - it has to be because the ending of the book leaving you hanging. There are unanswered questions at the end of the book that you want to know the answers for which is why I only gave it 4 stars.
Excellent book! Really opens your mind into thinking about the future. I'm not much of a reader on these kinds of topics but this book really captured my attention, I was determined to finish it right away. I read it for my philosophy class with Dr. Krieglstein and now I have my mom reading it too. I highly recommened this book!
This book will keep you interested in finding out what will happen next. It's a great read. Getting to know all of the characters through out the book is fun and Jesse was my favorite. He had a lot going on and he was still able to remain calm and think of his family. The book takes you across the world and when Jesse is getting interviewd you will feel right there with him!
I definitely recommend Einstein's Mistake by Werner Krieglstein. I must say that the author had an excellent imagination and out of this world ideas. It was a well written book and very interesting. It took me into a futuristic world that was under the control of a Science Government. Many ethical concepts were introduced and I was able to gain a better understanding and a new perspective on how people can be driven on power, control, and greed. It made me wonder what it would be like to live in such an authoritarian society with people having total mind management of others. In contrast, what a world it would be to live in a new vision of the world know as the "Age of Peace". I had only one question. Is there a sequel to this book?
I do have to say, Einstein's Mistake would not have been a book that I would have picked to read, but I definitely recommend Einstein's Mistake by Werner Krieglstein.
